Is this truck trade terms with no check engine lights on or engine issues? Also will it pass DOT?
Our trucks are not at Trade Terms, but they are close. We complete a fresh Annual Vehicle Inspection before the unit is picked up. Steer tires are legal, but what ever tread depth they were when turned in by our drivers. The drives all have new Retread tires. We repair Class 3 leaks, we do not repair Class 1 or 2 leaks, we run them as is until it needs to be taken care of. Here is an example of our Pickup Checklist Inspection Step: Add 1 Gal DEF Fluid Inspect for active fault codes Verify engine ECM software is updated to current levels Perform manual regen, verify unit is converting, if not converting, perform water flush of DEF system Perform AVI inspection, attach copy of inspection form to WO, place paper copy in the vehicle, update sticker Verify minimum 20 gallons fuel, 1 gallon DEF Check for any obvious signs of degeneration from storage Verify speed governors are removed & to factory settings Run Heater and check for proper operation if equipped Verify operation of AC Verify Proper Oil Pressure. Add oil to proper levels Verify fluids are topped off (radiator, PS, etc.) Inspect 7-way for power to trailer lights Check tire pressure Inspect Water Pump weep hole for leaks Inspect Batteries, must start truck and hold a charge. · If truck had to be jump started the batteries must be tested Draw a coolant sample & check freeze protection Inspect Unit for any Class 3 leaks
